Helping people in our community and throughout the world

United methodist church

It is hard to believe that this newsletter takes us to the Christmas season. Aside from the sights and sounds of Christmas, the smells of Christmas bring back memories and are most enjoyable. The smell of Christmas trees, cookies baking, candles burning among other smells make this a special time.

2 Corinthians 2:14-15 says, ”But thanks be to God, who always leads us in joyful procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.”

I remember when my son Grant worked for the local pizzeria in Livonia. On the occasions I would pick him up from work, he would get in the car and all I could smell was pizza and it made me hungry for some and I’d want to run in and get one for myself.

It is the same with our lives, especially this time of year. When we do the things of Christ and let his grace wash over us, his aroma will be all over us and people will be hungry for him because of us.

May the circle of blessings continue,

Pastor John
